Obituary

Albert Pesce, 87, of Spring Street, South Portland, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014, at the Maine Veterans Home, in Scarborough. He was born in Boston, MA, the son of Carmine and Maria (Rega) Pesce.  Albert served in the Navy during World II. He worked for Burnham and Morrill for over 40 years, retiring in 1989.  Albert gave generously to many different charities.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors, especially spending time at Sebago Lake.  He also cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. He is survived by a son Duane Albert and his wife Donna of Gorham; a brother Carmine Pesce of Portland, a sister Celia Pennisi of Florida; two grandchildren, Duane Albert Jr. of Washington, DC and Donna Lorello and her husband Andrew of Wells; and two great grandchildren Logan and Dominic Lorello. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 8 PM Thursday at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 AM Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church.  Interment will be in New Calvary Cemetery.  On line condolences may be expressed at blaisandhayfuneralhome.com.
