Alan Joseph Widor, 76, of Westbrook, Maine, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by the love of his family in his final days. Born on May 5, 1949, Alan lived a life marked by quiet strength, a dry wit, and steadfast dedication to his loved ones. "Al" was the son of Joseph and A. Helen Widor and grew up in South Portland, Maine, with his four siblings. He graduated from South Portland High School, proudly served in the US Air Force Reserves from 1967-1973, and continued to serve others in his 48-year career as a financial advisor. His integrity, care, and compassion for his clients set him apart in his industry. Al had a knack for conversation and a huge gift for making new friends. He had a mischievous sense of humor and always carried a twinkle in his blue eyes. With a fun-loving appreciation for life's simple joys, he loved traveling, twirling his wife around the dance floor, and good dinners with family and friends. He also had a perfectionist's spirit, driven to be his best when bowling a perfect game with his Punk Kids team, golfing a hole-in-one at the Falmouth Country Club, and caring for perfectly manicured lawns at home. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, delighting in his grandchildren's laughter and giving his family the best life possible. Al's unwavering positivity and endurance through declining health are a testament to his strength and courage. His family and friends will remember the kindhearted, generous spirit who fought hard to the end. He is dearly missed, admired, and respected by all who knew him. He will always be our hero. Alan is survived by his cherished wife of 54 years, JoJean "Jodie" Widor; daughter Jennifer W. Smith with son-in-law Russell; son Jarrod Widor with daughter-in-law Emily and grandchildren, Harlow and Lyle; siblings James Widor and Marilyn Hutchinson; sister-in-laws Kathy Levasseur, Ranie Ford, and Julie Gordon, plus a large, loving and close extended family, and many, many friends gathered through the years. A celebration of Al's life will be held on Friday, June 27th at Dolby, Blais & Segee, 35 Church St, Westbrook, Maine. Visiting hours are 12:00-2:00 PM, with a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
