STANDISH—Alan Cedric Foster, 78, passed away November 21, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Portland. He was born August 7, 1941, a son of Cedric and Irma (Post) Foster. Alan was a graduate of Windham High School, class of 1959. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served for 4 years. Upon his honorable discharge from the service, he began working as a truck driver, which he continued to do in various capacities throughout his life. He was married to Maryann Foster for many years before her passing in 2014. Alan was a car enthusiast, most notably he was a fan of the Model A vehicle which he loved to tinker on. He even built a Model A from scratch! He was a member of the "Model A" Club which included annual summer steak and lobster cookouts. Some of his favorite past times were spending time with his family, especially grandchildren. He enjoyed the Memorial Day Parades, and trips to the beach with his grandkids while riding in the Model A. He is survived by his son, Michael Gregorie; grandchildren, Heather York and her husband Nate, Stephanie Mayberry and her husband Ryan, and Brandon Gregorie; great grandchildren, Amy, Ace and Olivia; sister, Cheryl Foster Howard, and sister in law Sharon Foster; as well as many nieces and nephews. Alan was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Maryann Foster; and his brothers, Clyde and Donald Foster. No services for Alan are being held at this time.
