Gorham—Adam Joseph Ogden, 55, passed away peacefully surrounded by closest friends, family, and husband Dennis Valliere Wednesday, April 6 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1960 to Dr. Arthur and Victoria Ogden. After high school Adam attended Tufts University where he earned a Master's Degree in Education and Art History. While attending Tufts University he joined the Army, serving with the Maine National Guard for 23 years as an engineering officer. Adam also worked as the Director of Public Works for the Town of Cumberland and as Assistant Director of Public Works for Brunswick. He was also a Maine licensed site evaluator. Adam very much enjoyed teaching students with special needs and helping veterans cope with life through his knowledge in art. He also enjoyed gardening, landscaping, and entertaining his friends in his beautiful back yard with his beloved husband, Dennis of 33 years. He is survived by his mother Victoria Ogden, step-father, Bob Harvey, sisters Melissa Mucciaccio and her husband Gerry, Jennifer Harris, brothers, John Ogden and his wife Nori, Mathew Ogden and his wife Jennifer and several nieces and nephews. He will be missed greatly by all. Friends and family are invited to visitation from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, April 16 at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 76 State Street, Gorham where a celebration of his life will follow at 11 a.m. Donations in Adam's memory may be made to Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 U.S. Route One, #1, Scarborough, ME 04074.
