Obituary

Abigail "Abby" MacDonald, known to many as simply Mammie, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 12th, after a brief illness. Born in Washington DC on December 1, 1954, Abby spent her younger years in California before settling in Maine with her late husband, Scott MacDonald and their three children, in 1988. Abby had a passion for dolls, antiques, gardening, and, above all, spending cherished moments with her six grandchildren: Evan, Natasha, Alex, Myah, Nick, and Morgan, as well as her great-grandson, Callan. A kind-hearted soul, she sought opportunities to spread kindness through thoughtful gestures, leaving an indelible mark on all those she encountered. She is survived by: son Tom Riker and wife Kate, son Jason Riker and wife Melissa, her daughter Tiffany MacDonald, her grandchildren, and many extended grandchildren. Abby's family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this challenging time and finds solace in knowing that Abby is at peace, reunited with her beloved Scotty. There will be a celebration of Abby's life on Saturday, Oct. 21st from 1 - 5pm at Skips (288 Narragansett Trail). Please join us to celebrate our beloved mom, mammie, and friend. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to the Buxton Food Pantry, the Hollis Community Clothing Closet, or simply pay it forward in honor of Abby.
