Westbrook- Rita Lorraine Belanger, 80, passed away on her and her husband Leo's 58 Wedding Anniversary on August 13, 2018 in Portland. The daughter of Eugene and Edwina (Rousseau) Lepenven she was born in Portland, on April 8, 1938. She was raised in and lived in Westbrook her entire life. She graduated from Westbrook High School, and after graduation she became a Nurse' Aide. She first worked at the Portland Hospital (now the Barron Center), then worked for Westbrook Hospital and finally for LaBelle Dentistry in Westbrook. She also worked at Zayre Department Store and sold Tupperware. She enjoyed doing ceramics, crocheting, knitting, and doing family genealogical research. Rita was predeceased by her sister Pauline Y. Lepenven. She is survived by her husband Leo of Westbrook, Her daughters Beth Holly and her husband Kenneth Lovejoy of Florida, Therese Belanger of Standish, and Patricia Belanger of Sabbattus, her sons James Belanger of New Hampshire, and Michael Belanger of Limington, 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, her brother Maurice Lepenven of Florida and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside committal service on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 1:00 PM at St. Hyacinth Cemetery, Stroudwater St. Westbrook. A reception will follow the service at the American Legion Hall, 17 Dunn St. Westbrook. Arrangements are under the care of the Westbrook Chapel of Dolby, Blais & Segee.
