Amanda B. Schmidt

December 24, 1980 - March 13, 2022

Amanda Brie (Torrisi) Schmidt, 41, left this world to be with her beloved husband RC Schmidt on Sunday, March 13, 2022. She was born in Lawrence, MA, on Christmas Eve of 1980 to parents Paula (O’Connell) and Russell Torrisi. Mandie met her husband R.C. Schmidt in NYC in 2005. They were married in Italy in 2010, and lived all over the world including London, the US Virgin Islands, Amsterdam, and Italy. They shared a beloved dog named Rolo who always accompanied them on their travels. She was a successful architect, inspiring artist, and designer. She worked as an architect for SOM in NYC, Russell Ricardi Interiors, and taught photography in Florence, Italy at the Florence University of the Arts. She obtained a Masters of Architecture at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI, and a Master’s of Fine Arts in Photography at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. Mandie was a lover of music, watching the fireworks on her and her husband’s sailboat, Central Park picnics, cooking with her love RC, traveling the world, and enjoying the crisp fall air of New England as well as a good coffee shop Amanda and R.C. shared the love of life. Above all, she was a beloved wife, daughter, sister, niece, friend, and aunt to her niece and nephew. She is survived by her parents, Paula Torrisi of Estero, FL and Russell Torrisi of Naples, FL, and her sister Courtney Williams (Jonathon), and her nephew and niece Evan and Riley of Naples, FL. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 19 at 10:00 AM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 307 Congress St., Portland, ME 04101 Celebration of life to follow 11 am to 3 pm at Tiqu. 327 Commercial St, Portland, ME 04101.
