Standish—Susan (McLaughlin) Manganelli, daughter of the late Arthur E. And Elinor M. McLaughlin passed into eternal rest on April 6, 2016. She was the beloved wife and best friend of Paul M. Manganelli and loving mom of Paul D. Manganelli of The Colony, Texas, Amy Manganelli and her husband Paul MacDonald of Brookline, MA, Nicole Manganelli and her partner DrewChristopher Joy of South Portland, Maine as well as beloved sister of Diane Rodgers of Cambridge, MA and Peter McLaughlin of St. Petersburg, FL. She was a lifetime friend to Joan Shelvey of Ft. Myers, FL, who was her classmate at Matignon High School in Cambridge and UMass, Boston and Salem State University. Susan's friends were many and included her step- mother- in- law Virginia Manganelli and her in-laws Paul and Marie Manganelli, Louise and Peter Ornstein and their son, Nicholas, John and Nora Manganelli and their son Jim and his wife Amber. Susan was an avid baker and gourmet cook. There wasn't a recipe tried that wasn't tweaked to make it her own. Susan also enjoyed nature, growing gardens and watching birds. Her green thumb and culinary skills were only eclipsed by her kindness and compassion. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 14 from 4-6 p.m. at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 76 State Street, Gorham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 15 at 11 a.m. at St. Anne's Church, 299 Main Street, Gorham. Burial will be in St. Hyacinth Cemetery, Stroudwater Street, Westbrook.
