Sheena Lee Ronfeldt

STANDISH - Sheena Lee (Dillingham) Ronfeldt, 70, of Whites Point in Standish, died peacefully surrounded by her treasured family on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at the Gosnell House. She was born in Portland, the oldest daughter of John H. Dillingham and Audrey (David) Dillingham. Sheena attended Edward Little and Bonney Eagle High Schools before marrying the love her life, Walter F. Ronfeldt, Jr. in 1964. Sheena retired from S.D Warren in 1995. In the last 5 years as Sheena faced declining health, she never gave up. She never complained, maintaining a brave and cheerful outlook of an optimistic future. She continued to spend those years with her family, choosing to remain involved in their lives, putting all needs before her own, and these moments we will cherish forever. Sheena was filled with compassion and interest in others. She was easy to love, and maintained a sweet disposition even through her final days. She was an amazing cook, and we will always remember her famous spaghetti sauce and Christmas Cookies. She instilled a feeling in all, which is most easily reflected in a quote that she loved by Maya Angelou, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Through her illness, nevertheless she persisted. Sheena and Walter spent the Maine winters in Port St. Lucie, FL with their many friends, filling their days with shuffleboard, and sitting poolside in the warm air. She loved boating and being outdoors, sitting in her yard looking onto Sebago Lake. She also loved a good Bloody Mary in the Summer or a s’more by a roaring fire in the Fall. Sheena is survived by her husband of 53 years, Walter. Her children Roberta Butcher, Deborah Woodbury and husband David, Stephanie Ronfeldt, and Walter Ronfeldt, III. Grandchildren Brianna Champion and husband Jason. Rhiannon Butcher, and Brandon Ronfeldt. Great- Grandchildren Jaxon Champion, and Lianna Butcher. Siblings Daniel Munson, Johnathan Dillingham, Sarah Dillingham-Waterman, Jayne Dillingham-Comeau, Scott Dillingham, Jack Dillingham, and Stewart Dillingham. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and her special cousin Gretchen Snowe-Bly. Sheena was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Cheryl Durgin and Linda Fields, and brother John “Bobby” Dillingham. We would like to express our immense gratitude to all of the medical staff within Maine Medical Center, Dr. Hawkins, Dr. Taylor, and the Gosnell Memorial Hospice. Sheena’s life will be celebrated at the Windham Chapel of Dolby, Blais & Segee 434 River Road, Windham, Maine on Saturday, December 9, 2017, with visiting hours from 11:30am-1:00pm and service to follow.
