Ruth Cammic Doyle GORHAM— Ruth Doyle, 90, died peacefully on Friday, June 15, 2018 at the Gorham House. Ruth was born in Lubec, Maine December 5,1927 one of two daughters of Hazen and Vera Cammic. Ruth had many interests but her love for music wove a thread throughout her life. She taught piano and organ lessons to many students including her daughters. She served as church organist and choir director for many years at multiple churches. She was a member of the Organist Guild and one of her greatest pleasures was playing the Kotzschmer organ in Portland. She also treasured summers attending Colby College for the Summer Music Institute, studying with renown organists. She enjoyed singing with the Portland Community Chorus as well as being the rehearsal pianist and organist for the Gorham Ecumenical Chorus. Ruth earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Southern Maine in 1965. She taught fourth grade in Westbrook (Forest Street and Congin Elementary) schools for many years. She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Donald J. Doyle and her daughter Susan Goldmann. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Picard, her daughter Doreen Johnson, her grandchildren, Tylee Griego, Erik and Ben Goldmann, and her three great grandchildren, Lorelei, Rory and Rowan Griego. Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the Gorham Chapel of Dolby, Blais & Segee, 76 State St. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at the Eastern Cemetery in Gorham beside her beloved husband Donald J Doyle, and near her daughter Susan Goldmann.
