Gorham-Roland J Mackenzie, 90, of Gorham passed away peacefully at his home on March 26, 2018 with his daughter Debra at his side. Rollie was born in Errol NH to the late Walter Mackenzie and Zilla (Jordan) Thurston. He attended schools in Errol until high school, because there were no High Schools in the area. He graduated from Deering High School in 1945. He joined the Marines Corp on July 5, 1945 where he served as a Military Police, and was honorable discharged on July 5 1949. He worked at Coffin Wimple, Foye and Sons, and retired from Northstar Bank. Roland met his wife Mary, at Harmon's beach. After they were married they moved to Gorham in 1955, into the home he and his father in law built. They raised their two sons and daughter in this home. Rollie enjoyed spending time with his family especially at the family camp on Sebago Lake. He also enjoyed traveling with family and friends. He was never afraid to tackle a job of any size to help someone out. He loved going for walks, reading, and the New England Patriots, he also like some basketball. He was predeceased by his wife Mary E Mackenzie, his son Jeffery, his two brothers Donald and Eugene, his sister Diane and a special friend June Rainville. He is survived by his sister-in-law Theresa Mackenzie, his son Brian MacKenzie and his wife Cindy (Cinderella), his daughter Debra Houle, his Son Kevin MacKenzie and his wife Susan, his grandchildren Christopher and Corie Quill, Alexander Houle, Devin and Justin, and five great grandchildren. A special thank you to the VNA Home Health Hospice, Nurse Kim, and Health Aid Kristie Family and friends are invited to attend an hour of visitation on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM followed by a service at 12:00 PM, at the Windham Chapel of Dolby, Blais & Segee, 434 River Road. Interment with Military Honors will be at Hillside Cemetery, Huston Rd. Gorham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roland's memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
