WINDHAM—Robert L. Waterhouse Jr., 65, passed away unexpectedly due to natural causes on August 26, 2019. He was born on February 27, 1954 the first-born child of Robert L. Waterhouse Sr. and Freida (Cyr) Waterhouse. Bob grew up in Portland was proud to be a Bulldog graduate of Portland High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served his country for 4 years during the Vietnam War. On June 14, 1980, he married Carol Waycott Woodbury and together they had a daughter, Nicole, who Bob was very proud of. At various times, he was employed as a security guard, worked at Oakhurst Dairy, and was an oil truck driver for Maine Gas. Most recently, he worked his favorite job as "Grandpa" to his beloved grandchildren, Olivia and Peter. Bob made friends easily as he was a story-teller who enjoyed talking to anyone. He was a member of VFW Post 6859 in Portland and enjoyed being a volunteer firefighter for the Westbrook Fire Department for over 20 years. Some of Bob's favorite pastimes include attending the annual Thanksgiving football game between Portland and Deering, being a practical joker to his friends and family, and spending time with his loved ones. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Waterhouse; his daughter, Nicole Cook and her husband Nicholas, and "adopted" son Jon Bouffard; grandchildren, Olivia and Peter Cook; siblings, Bonnie Smith, Philip Waterhouse and his wife Denise, Blendine Bouchard, Donald Waterhouse and his wife Heidi, Marty Waterhouse and his wife, Michelle, and Dwight Waterhouse and his wife Denise; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by both of his parents; and a brother, Eddie Waterhouse. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 30 at 2:00 PM at the VFW Post 6859, 687 Forest Ave., Portland, ME 04103. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bob's name may be made to Windham Fire and Rescue, 375 Gray Rd., Windham, ME 04062.
