Olie Jon Lindahl, Sr., of Standish, Maine, died peacefully on May 1, 2025, after bravely battling a long illness. Olie was born on May 4, 1956 to Richard and Teresa Lindahl of Bangor, Maine. The Lindahl family moved and settled in Falmouth, Maine where Olie attended Falmouth High School and played on the Falmouth High basketball team. Basketball was a passion that he passed down to his two sons and he enjoyed many of their school and college games. In addition to his love for basketball, Olie was an avid golfer and loved spending time on the golf course. As a longtime homeowner in Standish, Olie was well known and loved by neighbors and the local community. Olie was also well known for his willingness to help anyone, anytime, never expecting anything in return. From helping to build a roof to babysitting dogs, Olie always was available. After a long career in construction and as an entrepreneur in the cleaning industry, he retired to his home in Standish, but didn't stay unemployed for long. He was an active member of the Eagles Club in Westbrook, where he worked as a manager, which was very important to Olie. He was committed to creating and supporting community through fellowship, volunteering, entertainment and safety programs. He is predeceased by his father, Richard Lindahl, and brothers, Richard and Peter Lindahl. He is survived by his mother, Teresa Lindahl (Hogan); sister, Trina Foley (Lindahl); brother, David Lindahl; sister-in-law, Beverly Lindahl; sons, Olie Jon Lindahl, Jr and Timothy Miles Lindahl; nephews, Griffin and Tanner Foley; and nieces, Kelly Lindahl and Madison Lindahl. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Eagles Club 2977, 89 Saco Street, Westbrook, ME on May 24 at 1:00 p.m. Please bring your favorite story about Olie to share.
