Gorham, Maine Lyle Norman Tracy, 57, It is with profound sadness that the family of Lyle Tracy, of Gorham, Maine announce his passing on August 20, 2017, in Scarborough, Maine. Lyle died peacefully with his family and friends at his side after a brief battle with melanoma. Lyle is the beloved husband of Kathryn (Keddy), and the devoted father to Alexandra and Cameron, who he adored and was totally dedicated to their many family adventures together, life milestones and future dreams from the moment they were born. He was, and always will be, the light of their lives. Originally from Buxton, Maine, Lyle attended Bonny Eagle High School, class of 1978, followed by the University of Maine, Orono, graduating in 1982 where he earned a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. For the next 35 years, Lyle worked as a geotechnical engineer in the Portland, Maine area, building many strong professional relationships that endured throughout his life. He was most recently employed with Amec Foster Wheeler. Lyle was an avid outdoor sports enthusiast, especially hunting, camping and hiking. He also had a passion for organized sports including playing on several adult league sports teams throughout his life, and was the proud owner of Lyle's Lagers in the Downeast Diamond Dog Rotisserie Baseball League since 1985. All of these passions provided him with the greatest family of friends anyone could imagine. Lyle was also known in the Gorham Community for his devotion to travel and recreational sports teams and organizations. He enjoyed coaching youth soccer, baseball, softball, and basketball teams. He also volunteered on several Gorham travel sports boards, including his longest tenure as the President of Gorham Travel Basketball where he continued to serve until his passing. Lyle was predeceased by his mother, Chloe Tracy. He is survived not only by his wife of 27 years, and two children, but by his father, Elliott Tracy, Sr., his sisters, Holly Tracy and Julie Paulsen, and his brothers, Elliott Tracy, Jr. and Russell Tracy, as well as extended family members and lifelong friends. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Friday, September 1, at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 76 State Street, Gorham. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 2 at the First Parish Congregational Church, 1 Church St., Gorham.
