Lucille Alice Woodis

Lucille A. Woodis January 22, 1945-April 13, 2023 Lucille A Woodis 78 of Windham passed away April 13,2023 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Lucille was bon on January 22, 1945, on a winter stormy day in Portland Maine, the youngest daughter of Alta (Pexdexter) and Eliot Woodis. She grew up in Windham and attended Windham schools. After graduating from high school, Lucille set out to expand her world. With a suitcase, bus ticket, and 300.00 in her pocket she set her sights on Florida. She settled in Madera Beach working for both Veterans Administration and Publix Market. Lucille saved her money and purchased her first home, a duplex. Lucille was a motivated young woman taking college courses at St. Peter's Junior College. She found her passion was in Real Estate and became a Real Estate Agent. Lucille made friends easily and was introduced to her husband Dr. Joe Marinelli through friends. She and Joe married and stayed in Florida for awhile but then set out on another adventure and moved to Maggie Valley, North Carolina and built their dream home in the Smokey Mountains. Lucille and Joe moved back to Windham to be near Lucille's family. They enjoyed spending time with family and friends. After Joe passed away, Lucille bought a duplex which she enjoyed. Lucille was affectionally know as "Lou" to her friends and family. She was known for her teddy bear collection which included one her father gave her as a little girl. Lucille loved her dogs, Fluffy, Peanut and Lexi, that she had over the years. Lucille was known for her green thumb; her home was filled with beautiful houseplants. After heart surgery, she became an avid walker and walked the River Walk in Windham. She loved kayaking and snowshoeing with her sister Judy. Lucille was a hard worker, kind and loving soul. She was a Hospice volunteer, drove people to Dr. appointments, and was supportive friend. Lucille is preceded by her parents, sister Helen Audi and husband. Lucille is survived by her sister Judy Butts, many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many friends whom she treasured. At her request there will not be any service. Family would like to thank Northern Light Hospice Nurse Ellen and Social Worker Hope for their support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Northern Lights Hospice.
