Kenneth Lee Temm

Gorham- Kenneth Lee Temm, 80 of Gorham passed away peacefully on June 7, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born in Westbrook, Maine to Edwin Temm and L. Isabelle Temm on December 17, 1943, and attended Windham Schools. Kenneth married the love of his life, Diane J. Faunce Temm on October 24, 1964. They built their house in Gorham, where they would fill it with love and make it their forever home. Ken worked at Dixon Bros Oil as a heating repair and installation tech for several years. He then went on to be employed by S.D. Warren/Sappi in the shipping department in Westbrook from July 1969 until his retirement in January 2007. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Town of Gorham, he joined in March of 1968 and later became fire police for them in 2001. He dedicated 56 years to the department, many of them as a lieutenant for Engine 1 at Central Station. Kenneth loved to be involved with and watch auto racing and spent countless hours at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway and most recently Wiscasset Speedway. He was on a pit crew for a number of years and loved the lifelong friendships and memories he made. He was also an active member of Maine Vintage Race Car Association and loved to bring his vintage race cars to shows and events. Swapping stories at any given event or car show was something he could do for hours with anyone who wanted to sit and talk. Kens proudest accomplishment was making sure his family was loved and taken care of. He dedicated his life to providing for those he loved in any way he could. He was a humble man who asked for nothing in return. He lived a life well loved by many. Kenneth is predeceased in death by his beloved wife Diane, this year would have been their 60th wedding anniversary. Kenneth is survived by his daughter Andrea, granddaughter Rachel and her husband Matthew and great grandchildren Caylee, Elizabeth Bentlee and Harvey. Son Stephen and his wife Chandra and grandchildren Zachary, Natalie, and Leah. Sister Lois and her husband Edward, brother Dennis and his wife Marie, Sister-in-law Marcia, and her husband Gabe, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends that he considered family that held a special place in his heart. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 22, from 11 to 1 PM, at the Gorham Chapel of Dolby, Blais & Segee, 76 State Street, Gorham. A Memorial service to follow visitation at 1 PM. His reception after the services will be at Little Falls Activity Center, 40 Acorn Street, Gorham.
