Jeannette Elaine Hamilton Hopkins, 77, passed away Saturday, Jan 21, 2017, She was born in Portland, ME March 30, 1939, to Ruby Burgoyne Hamilton and William Laforrest Hamilton, one of five daughters. Schooling for Jeannette consisted of St. Dominics and Cathedral High in Portland. Jeannette worked in various places, FW Woolworth in Portland and Oahu, Hawaii, DH Holmes in New Orleans., ending her career with 32 years as Administrator at the Super 8 Motel in Westbrook, ME. Jeannette was predeceased by her parents, sister and brother-in-law Mary Patricia and Elon Eastman, and sister Paula Hamilton. She is survived by her husband Erland (Peter) Hopkins of Westbrook; daughter Valerie Ingraham; and her son David Hopkins; grandchildren Tina Porter, Devin McNeil, and Sarah Hopkins; five great grandchildren Matthew, Marcus, Makayla, Vincent, and Scarlett; two sisters Kathryn and husband Blaise Ellis, and Teresa Brann, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jeannette enjoyed crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader. She also found great joy in going out to dinner Friday nights with friends. Visiting hours will be from 9 to 11 AM Wednesday, followed by a funeral service at 11 AM at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35Church St., Westbrook. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
