James Howard Hayward. Born May 4, 1946 to Raymond Hayward and Hazel Ward Jones, peacefully passed away at Maine Medical Center with family by his side after suffering a long term illness. James spent the beginning of his life's journey in the town of Pembroke near the coastal paradise of Eastport Maine. In 1947 his family relocated to Portland, where as a young man, he became a well-regarded member of the working waterfront. He was predeceased by his mother Hazel, his father Raymond and his little brother Denny. James is survived by his loving sisters Joyce and Cindy, as well as his big brother Jerry James leaves behind the love of his life, Bonnie Hayward of Raymond, and their 3 children, Laurie Bouchard of Nebraska, Kelli Hayward of Portland, and Marc Hayward of Limington. He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Christopher, Marissa, Morgan, Timmy, Amanda and Dana, and 7 great grandchildren, Chance, Shaun, Malakai, Geno, Hanley, Hunter and Henry. Per his request there will be no formal funeral, but family and friends are welcome to join us as we gather at Brooklawn cemetery on Friday, April 28th at 11:00am to lay James to rest.
