Frances Begin-Lowe passed peacefully on January 24,2023 at Avita at Stroudwater. She was born in Westbrook, Maine on July, 19,1928 to Francois G. Begin and Alice(Rousseau) Begin. Fran held a variety of office manager/bookkeeper jobs throughout her life including Red Rose Tea, a variety of hotels and lastly Lee Dodge. She was also an active member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for many years. Fran enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, shopping and skiing. By far her favorite thing was driving, especially; in a Mustang convertible. She owned several over the years. Although Fran had no children of her own she was a big part of her nieces and nephews lives. She often gave them rides to school, took them to the beach and skiing. Their favorite memories involved trips in the Mustang to Mt Abram and overnights at her ski cabin. Later in life, Fran met her husband Charlie Lowe at Mt Abram in Greenwood, ME. Initially they resided in Westbrook, but Mt Abram Ski Village was where they finally settled. Mt Abram is where they enjoyed a full, active life and developed many long lasting friendships. Frances truly loved and appreciated all her friendships from Mt Abram and the Greenwood area. So many of them were like family and watched over her after Charlie passed. Fran was predeceased by her parents, brothers Louis and Arthur, infant brother Armand and husband Charlie. She is survived by sisters Florence, Rosaline & MarieAlice, step daughter Bethany Hale, grandson Ayden Hale, several nieces and nephews, good friends Carl & Betsy Menici and a large group of friends from Mt Abram. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua burial will follow at St. Hyacinth. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Mt Abram Ski Club.
