Ellen Gregoire Byrnes, 71 years of ageof 40 Madison Street, Westbrook, MainePassed away after a long illness. She lived at home, was transported to Maine Medical Center where she passed away on Saturday March 8, 2014. Ellen was born in Wells Maine and graduated from Westbrook High School.  She loved her home, had a great sense of humor, and loved to joke with people.  She had a kind heart and will be dearly missed by family and friends. Ellen was the daughter of Margaret and Emery Erskine. She is survived by her husband of 51 years Darrell Byrnes of Westbrook, and her daughter Luanne Hampton of Connecticut.  Immediate family members are Maryanne Foster and husband Allen, Carl Gregoire Sr. and wife Dottie, Sarah Jordan, and Jonathan Erskine and wife Cheryl.  Brother-in-laws James Byrnes, Thomas Byrnes, Robert Byrnes and sister-in-law Patricia Gee, and many nieces and nephews. A wake is planned for Saturday March 15 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Blais Hay Funeral Home at 35 Church Street, Westbrook.  A gathering will be held for family and friends at the home of Ellen's niece at 10 Roberts Street, Biddeford Maine directly following the wake.  On line condolences may be expressed at blaisandhayfuneralhome.com.
