Diane G. Friel Litchfield - Diane Greaves Friel born October 20, 1943 to Stanley and Natalie (Ambrose) Greaves in Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 7th. Diane grew up in Connecticut where she met her husband, Bill. They married in 1966 and went on to have 4 daughters. They lived in CT until 1984, when they moved to Maine. Diane writes that she wanted this a part of her obituary. "The clock of life is wound but once, And no man has the power To tell just when the hands will stop At late or early hour. To lose one's wealth is sad indeed, To lose one's health is more, To lose one's soul is such a loss That no man can restore. The present only is our own, So live, love, toil with a will. Pamela (Friel) Cartonio, husband, Anthony of Litchfield; Daughter Janice (Friel) Lesser, husband John of Gorham, and Daughter Sara Friel of Standish. Diane's sister, Barbara Hardesty of Berlin, CT; Brother, David Greaves, wife Karen, Cromwell, CT; Sister Joan Ames of East Hampton, CT; and a Sister, Carole Vieregg, husband Bill, of CO., and a sister-in-law, Angela Sealander, husband Richard, of Cheshire CT. Diane leaves behind 8 grandchildren, that she loved very much. Alex and Justin Cartonio of Litchfield, Dominic,Llayna, and Jake of Gorham, Jacklyn, Addison, and Lylah of Standish. She also has many nieces and nephews. Diane was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Wendi; her brother, Ron.
